No dia 09 de Julho de 2008 na Antiga Sede da Fundação Cesgranrio, no Cosme Velho aconteceu o lançamento do Livro Ouvindo o Silêncio, da Professora do Mestrado Profissional em Avaliação da Fundação Cesgranrio Angela Carrancho da Silva e Armando Guimarães Nembri, os convidados que lotaram o espaço desfrutaram do cocktail que ficou a cargo da Casa de Arte e Cultura Julieta de Serpa.
Ouvindo o silêncio surdez, linguagem e educação Angela Carrancho da Silva e Armando Guimarães Nembri .
Esta obra se destina a educadores e pais interessados em conhecer e compreender um pouco mais a vida de um surdo profundo e dos desafios que ele enfrentou para alcançar a formação universitária e uma profissão. O panorama teórico desvelado por Ângela Carrancho somado ao emocionante relato de Armando Nembri torna esta obra chocante e inédita no sentido de trazer ao público leitor, pela escrita do próprio sujeito surdo e de uma de suas mestras, a necessidade premente de se reorganizar o trabalho pedagógico nas escolas para garantir aos surdos o direito a condições dignas de aprendizagem.
